As a Software Engineer specializing in Autonomy, you will play a key role in the development and refinement of autonomous driving functionalities and robotics algorithms. This encompasses various tasks, including implementation, debugging, field testing, and deployment across sensor calibration, localization, mapping, perception, prediction, planning, and controls. Collaboration with our autonomous mobility team is essential to understand functional and operational requirements, leading to the development of features, tools, and processes to meet those needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine autonomous driving functionalities and robotics algorithms.
  • Collaborate with the autonomous mobility team to understand functional and operational requirements, contributing to the development of features, tools, and processes.
  • Stay updated with the latest technologies and trends in robotics, autonomous driving, simulation, and software-defined vehicles.
  • Help establish good software engineering practices, aiming to produce high-quality, easily reconfigurable, and maintainable software.
  • Proactively address impediments and propose solutions, considering the cost-benefit ratio to the wider team and our delivery commitments.

Profile:

  • BSc/MSc/PhD in a STEM subject with a focus on robotics and software engineering.
  • Experience in one or more areas: sensor calibration, localization, mapping, perception, prediction, planning, and controls.
  • Hands-on experience in the deployment and field testing of autonomous driving software functionalities.
  • Solid experience with ROS, preferably ROS 2.
  • Strong software development skills, capable of writing idiomatic, modular, and battle-tested software in C++ & Python.
  • Comfortable with Linux and Git.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Ansible, and AWS.
  • Humble, respectful, and a positive and professional attitude towards challenges.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in training and deploying ML models for autonomous driving applications.
  • Experience working with Autoware.
